INTERMITTENT NO CRANK/NO START
PURPOSE
Some vehicles may experience an intermittent no crank/no start condition (starter does not engage to crank the engine). This condition could be due to an
inoperative theft alarm relay (on A/T models) or starter relay (on M/T models).
Inspect the date code of the affected relay as described in this bulletin. If the relay's date code is between D9298 and D00061, or between A9298 and
A0061, replace the relay. If the relay's date code does not fall between these codes, diagnose the no crank/no start condition according to the diagnosis
instructions on page 16-19 of the 2000 Eclipse service manual.

PROCEDURE
1.
On A/T models, inspect the date code of the theft alarm relay A-17X.
On M/T models, inspect the date code of the starter relay A-18X.
2.
Replace the relay if the date code is between D9298 and D0061, or between A9298 and A0061.
