Oil Pick Up/Strainer: Service and Repair
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. Drain engine oil.
2. Remove oil level gauge.
3. Remove front exhaust pipe.
4. Remove the bell housing cover, gasket and oil pan.
NOTE: After removing the oil pan mounting bolts, remove the oil pan with the oil pan gasket cutter tool No. MD998727, or equivalent, and a
brass bar.
CAUTION: Perform this slowly to avoid deformation of the oil pan flange.
5. Remove the oil screen.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
