Throttle Position Sensor: Description and Operation
PURPOSE/OPERATION
The throttle position sensor is a rotating type variable resistor. It senses the throttle valve angle. As the throttle shaft rotates, the output Voltage of
the throttle position sensor changes. The powertrain control module determines the throttle valve opening based on the output Voltage. The
powertrain control module computes throttle valve opening change (output Voltage change) and judges the engine acceleration state and
accordingly corrects fuel injection amount during acceleration.
