FUEL RETURN HOSE - SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN
PURPOSE
Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America, Inc. is voluntarily recalling certain 2001 Galant, Eclipse, and Eclipse Spyder vehicles for inspection and possible
replacement of the fuel return hose. Due to a material supply error in the hose manufacturing process, fuel return hoses with date code 0710 do not meet
hose life expectancy requirements. These hoses could eventually deteriorate and leak fuel due to ozone contamination.
Dealers must inspect the fuel return hose date code. Replace the hose if the date code is 0710.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
2001 Galant, Eclipse, and Eclipse Spyder models produced between 8/9/00 and 8/28/00
IMPORTANT
Affected inventory vehicles must be inspected/repaired before the vehicle is sold. Dealers must check their inventory vehicles' VINs on the Warranty
Super Screen to verify whether the vehicle is an affected VIN for this recall campaign.
