Ball Joint: Specifications
BALL JOINT BREAKAWAY TORQUE CHECK
1. After shaking the ball joint stud several times, use special tool MB991006 to measure the breakaway torque of the ball joint.
Standard value: 2.5 - 6.1 Nm (22 - 54 inch lbs.)
2. If the measured value exceeds the standard value, replace the lower arm.
3. If the measured value is lower than the standard value, verify that the ball joint turns smoothly without excessive play. If so, the ball joint is
reusable.
