a. Install return springs, Fig. 9.
b. When installing brake disc, ensure there is no corrosion or oil on parking brake drum.

5. Adjust rear wheel bearing as follows:

a. Inspect play of bearing while vehicle is raised and supported.
b. If any play is noted, remove hub cap, split pin and lock cap then loosen locknut.
c. Torque bearing nut to 14 ft. lbs.
d. Turn hub 180° and then return it to its original position. Repeat this step several times.
e. Completely loosen locknut, then torque locknut to 7 ft. lbs.

Repeat hub rotation step, turning hub in same direction.

g. Torque locknut to 7 ft. lbs.
h. Install lock cap and cotter pin.

Seat bearing by rotating hub as described in preceding steps.

j.

After securing wheel nuts, Ensure rotary sliding resistance is .6 ft. lbs. when a new bearing is used or 0.05 ft. lbs. if bearing is reused.
