Ignition Lock: Service and Repair
Refer to Technician Safety Information for Air Bag Arming and Disarming.
1. Disconnect hood lock release handle.
2. Remove instrument panel undercover.
3. Remove steering column lower cover.
4. Remove instrument cluster hood and upper column cover.
5. Remove steering wheel as outlined under Steering Wheel.

6. Using a hacksaw, cut special bolts used to secure steering lock, Fig. 4.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting following:
a. Temporarily install steering lock bracket and steering lock on steering column.
b. Ensure proper operation of steering lock.
c. Tighten special bolts until heads twist off.
