d. Apply engine oil on outer surface of piston, piston ring and oil ring, then arrange piston ring and oil ring gaps as shown, Fig. 57.
e. Install connecting rod bearings and rod cap. Ensure connecting rod big end side clearance measures 0.0039-0.0098 inch but does not exceed
0.016 inch.

Apply engine oil to threads of connecting rod cap nuts, then install and torque to 14.5 ft. lbs.
