Idle Air Control Motor (Stepper Motor): Testing and Inspection

System Schematic

The idle speed control (ISC) servo is a DC motor  controlled by the ECU. It is used to regulate the amount of air that can bypass the throttle plate and
affect the idle speed. 

Actuator Test

Use the following procedures to test the actuator:
1.

Disconnect the ISC servo connector.

2.

Connect an Ohm meter to the servo connector terminals 1 and 2 and measure the resistance.
