INTRODUCTION
This bulletin is issued to Supplement the description and troubleshooting information in the 1985 Starion and Galant Service Manuals.
As reference to this bulletin, please write the bulletin number in the boxes on pages 8-54 through 8-59 and 8-169 through 8-171 of the Galant manual
and pages 8-73 through 8-77 and 8-226 through 8-228 of the Starion Manual.
DESCRIPTION
The 1985 steering wheel-mounted radio controls operate in much the same way as a TV remotecontrol unit: infra-red light beams transmit the user's
commands from the remote-control unit in the steering wheel to the receiver.

FUNCTIONS
The switches in the steering wheel hub, illustrated in Figure 1, perform the following functions:
(1)
P/SW Power Switch: Push ON, then Push OFF, then ON, etc.
(2)
VOLVolume Decrease: Push to reduce radio volume.
(3)
VOL+ Volume Increase: Push to increase radio volume.
(4)
SEEK Station Seek: Push to switch to the next higher frequency station.
(5)
SCAN Station Scan: Push to keep searching higher frequencies with a 5- sec. pause at each station. Push again to stop the search.
(6)
FM/AM Push to change from AM to FM. Push again to change from FM to AM.
