Replacement
REMOVAL
CAUTION: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). Before removing the steering box center the front wheels, and remove the Ignition key. Failure to
do so may damage the SRS clock spring and render the SRS system inoperative, risking a serious driver's Injury.
1. Remove center member.
2. Remove front exhaust pipe.
3. Follow removal steps outlined in illustration.
NOTE: Removal service points as follows:
a. Tie-rod end disconnection (4).
CAUTION:
1. Using the special tool, loosen the tie-rod end mounting nut. Only loosen the nut; do not remove it from the ball joint.
2. Support the special tool with a cord, etc. to prevent it from coming off.
b. Gear box assembly removal (7).
