Mirage Sedan LS L4-1834cc 1.8L SOHC MFI (1999)
1. Negative (-) Battery Cable Disconnection
Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery and tape the terminal.
CAUTION: Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the battery cable before doing any further work.
2. Air Bag Module Removal (driver's Side)
a. Remove Cover.
b. Remove air bag.
When disconnecting the connector of the clock spring from the air bag module, press the air bag's lock toward the outer side to spread it open. Use
a flat-tipped screwdriver to pry gently as shown in the figure at the left, to remove the connector
CAUTION

When disconnecting the air bag module-lock spring connector, take care not to apply excessive force to it.

The removed air bag module should be stored in a clean, dry place with the pad cover face up.
3. Remove Steering Wheel
CAUTION: Do not hammer on the steering wheel. Doing so may damage the collapsible column mechanism.
4. Remove Column cover lower
5. Clock Spring Removal
CAUTION: The removed clock spring should be stored in a clean, dry place.

To install reverse the removal steps and note the following.
