8. Select No. "4. Data List" and press the "YES" key.

9. Press the MUT-II keys, "scroll up or scroll down", until "IAC VALVE POS" shows on the display.

Note: 

Before adjusting the SAS, make sure that the air conditioner and any other accessories which may place a load on the engine are turned OFF.

10. Adjust the SAS until the IAC position on the display moves to 7 STEP. The engine speed is kept at idle by the engine speed feedback control.

Note: 

The engine speed feedback control takes a few seconds per step, so it may take about a minute for the idle speed to stabilize.

11. Once the SAS adjustment is completed, proceed with the Ignition Timing Check.

Ignition Timing Check

Ignition timing can also be checked by using the actuator test mode and the following procedures.

Note: 

Before checking the ignition timing, be sure the following conditions exist:

Engine coolant temperature: 80 - 95°C (176 - 203°F)

All lights and accessories: OFF

^

Transmission: Neutral (manual) or "P" range (automatic)
