Pitman Arm: Service and Repair

DUST COVER REPLACEMENT

See steering gear section how to replace the pitman arm. See: Steering Gear/Service and Repair 
Required Special Tool: MB990776: Front Axle Base or equivalent.

NOTE:  When the dust cover is damaged accidentally during service work, replace the dust cover only as follows:

1. Fill inside the dust cover with multipurpose grease.
2. Apply the specified sealant to the mounting surface of the dust cover at the pitman arm.

Specified sealant: 3M ATD Part number 8661 or equivalent.

3. Using special tool MB990776, install the dust cover to the pitman arm.
