Install the first & reverse brake piston number 2 on top of the first & reverse brake piston number 2 as shown.
C. Snap ring installation. (19)
Required Special Tools or equivalents:
MD998921: Spring Compressor.
MD998924: Spring Compressor Retainer.
CAUTION: Do not align the end gap of the snap ring with the stopper of the spring seat.
The snap ring may break causing severe internal damage.
1. After the snap ring is installed, check the operation of the first & reverse brake piston as follows:
2. By applying compressed air (400-800 kPa, 57-113 psi) into the oil hole of the transmission case as illustrated, check that the first &
reverse brake piston slides smoothly.
D. Thrust bearing with race installation. (18)
Apply petrolatum to the thrust bearing with race and attach it as shown.
