D. Center bearing assembly removal. (9)
After removing the rubber mount, use a commercially available puller to remove the center bearing.
ASSEMBLY
Assembly in reverse order as Disassembly.
NOTE: Assembly service points as follows:
A. Center bearing assembly/center yoke installation. (8 & 9)
1. Install the center bearing assembly to the propeller shaft (Front) as shown in the illustration.
2. Align the mating marks on the center yoke and propeller shaft (Front).
3. Press-fit the center bearing assembly with the center yoke while tightening the self-locking nut.
B. Journal bearing installation. (3)
Required Special Tools or equivalents:
MB990840 (Type 1, Type 2): Universal joint remover/installer.
MB991410 (Type 2): Collar.
CAUTION: Be careful when pressing the journal bearings, if they are pressed at an angle, the inside of the journal bearings will be damaged
by the journal.
1. Use special tool MB990840 to press the journal bearing into the yoke until the snap ring groove is fully visible.
