Shift Interlock: Component Tests and General Diagnostics

SHIFT LOCK MECHANISM CHECK 

1. Carry out the following inspections.
2. If a problem is found in the inspections, adjust the shift lock cable mechanism.

1. Remove the floor console. 
2. Move the selector lever to the "P" position.
3. Loosen the locking nut of shift lock cable.

4. Tighten the jam nut to the specified torque at the position where the end of the shift lock cable comes to above the red marking on the lock

cam.
Tightening torque: 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.) 

5. Install the floor console.
