ABS Light: Testing and Inspection

Check that the ABS warning light illuminates as follows.

1. When the ignition key is turned to "ON," the ABS warning light illuminates for approximately 1 second and then switches "OFF."
2. When the ignition key is turned to "START," the ABS warning light remains illuminated.
3. When the ignition key is released from the "START" position, the ABS warning light illuminates for approximately 1 second and then stays

switched "OFF."

4. If the illumination is other than the above, check the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC). See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes /
