TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS (The most likely causes for this case:)

Blown fuse

Damaged wiring harness or connector

Malfunction of the ABS-ECU

Malfunction of the combination meter
DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tool:

STEP 1. Check whether the brake warning light is illuminated.
Q: Does the brake warning light illuminate at the condition that the ignition switch is turned to the "ON" position and the engine is stopped.
YES: Go to Step 2.
NO: Go to Step 5.
STEP 2. Check the brake warning light circuit at ABS-ECU connector E-106.
1. Disconnect the ABS-ECU connector E-106.
2. Turn the ignition switch to "ON" position.
3. Check whether the brake warning light is illuminated. The brake warning light should illuminate.
Q: Does the brake warning light illuminates?
YES: Replace the ABS-ECU and then go to Step 8.
NO: Go to Step 3.
STEP 3. Check the combination meter connector D-03 and the ABS-ECU connector E-106.
Q: Is any of the connectors damaged?
YES: Repair it and then go to Step 8.
NO: Go to Step 4.
