YES: Go to Step 2.

NO: Diagnose the radio and CD player [vehicles with radio and CD player] or the multivision display [vehicles with MMCS]. Refer to [vehicles
with radio and CD player]  See: Testing and Inspection/Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures/Trouble Symptom Chart or [vehicles with
MMCS].  See: Testing and Inspection/Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures/Trouble Symptom Chart

STEP 2.Using scan tool MB991958, diagnose the CAN bus line.

CAUTION:  To prevent damage to scan tool MB991958, always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or
disconnecting scan tool MB991958.

1. Connect scan tool MB991958. Refer to ETACS, Diagnosis, "How to connect the Scan Tool (M.U.T.-III)."  See: Body and Frame/Body Control

2. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
3. Diagnose the CAN bus line.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.

Q: Is the CAN bus line found to be normal?

YES [vehicles with radio and CD player] : Go to Step 3.

YES [vehicles with MMCS] : Go to Step 6.

NO [vehicles with radio and CD player or MMCS] : Repair the CAN bus line.

STEP 3. Check satellite radio tuner connector C-111 and radio and CD player connector C-14 for loose, corroded or damaged terminals, or
terminals pushed back in the connector.

Q: Is satellite radio tuner connector C-111 or radio and CD player connector C-14 in good condition?

YES: Go to Step 4.

NO: Repair or replace the damaged component(s).

STEP 4. Check the wiring harness between satellite radio tuner connector C-111 (terminal 6, 14) and radio and CD player connector C-14
(terminal 15, 6).

Check the communication lines for open circuit and short circuit.

Q: Is the wiring harness between satellite radio tuner connector C-111 (terminal 6, 14) and radio and CD player connector C-14 (terminal 15, 6) in
good condition?
