SUBJECT:
STEERING DRIFT
This bulletin supercedes TSB-02-33-002, issued October, 2002, to provide new information on improved springs used on vehicles produced since
12/3/02. New information is indicated by <--.
PURPOSE
Some customers may complain of steering drift on the 2003 Outlander. This bulletin describes diagnosis and repair instructions to minimize steering drift
condition.
Driving on a straight, flat road should require a minimal amount of steering wheel effort. If there is road crown, it is normal for the vehicle to move
slightly toward the low side of the crown, requiring some increase in steering effort. Front-wheel-drive vehicles are more sensitive to road crown than
all-wheel drive vehicles, and have a higher tendency to move toward the low side of the crown when you let go of the steering wheel.
