Turn crankshaft until No. 1 piston is at top dead center of compression stroke.

Remove parts in numerical order shown in Fig. 14.

Reverse procedure to install. Calculate endplay by measuring distance A and B, Fig. 15. Subtract measurement A from B. This is endplay.
Maximum allowable endplay is .0020-.0071 inch. Install camshaft bearing caps from front in numerical order, starting with front bearing cap, Fig.
