Recently all Mitsubishi Motors Dealers received a Diesel Injection Nozzle Cleaning Kit Special Tool #MIT209601 from Owatonna Tool Company. The
kit is universal and it contains more tools than are actually needed to clean Mitsubishi diesel injectors.
Injection nozzle cleaning procedures using the special tools contained in the kit are as follows:
REMOVAL/DISASSEMBLY OF THE INJECTION NOZZLE ASSEMBLY
Remove the injection nozzle(s) as covered in Group 14, Page 29 of the 1983 Truck Service Manual.
Disassemble the injection nozzle(s) as covered in Group 14, Page 31 of the Truck Service Manual. CAUTION! Do not Interchange parts from one
injection nozzle assembly to another. Thoroughly and carefully clean all disassembled parts with clean kerosene or solvent.
INSPECTION
Check the lapped contact surfaces of the distance piece, nozzle holder body and nozzle tip for uniform contact pattern. If worn or damaged, replace the
complete injection nozzle assembly.
