Ignition Lock: Service and Repair

1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Remove steering column shrouds.
3.
Cut groove in attaching bolt head using a suitable hacksaw, then remove bolts, Fig. 1.
4.
Remove ignition switch electrical connectors, then the lock assembly.
5.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Temporarily install ignition lock in alignment with column boss and check for proper switch operation.
b. Steering lock bracket should be replaced when installing new ignition switch.
c. Install special ignition lock attaching bolts and tighten until heads twist off.
