Barometric Pressure Sensor: Description and Operation

PURPOSE

The Barometric Pressure Sensor measures atmospheric pressure and converts the measurement into a voltage signal which is sent to the ECU.

OPERATION

The ECU uses the voltage signal to adjust the air-fuel ratio and ignition timing for the altitude at which the vehicle is running, improving
driveability at high altitude.
