1.

Disable airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.

2.

Remove steering wheel and column panel, Fig. 20.

3.

Remove instrument panel undercover.

4.

Remove steering column upper and lower covers.

5.

Remove meter hood hole covers, retaining screws, then the meter hood.

6.

Remove meter case retaining screws, then pull meter case outward and disconnect meter case electrical connectors.

7.

Disconnect meter case coupling and adapter, then remove from instrument panel.

8.

Remove center console panel.

9.

Remove air duct (D), lap heater duct, side defroster duct and defroster duct.

10.

Remove glove box and ashtray.

11.

Remove heater and air conditioner control panel, then disconnect heater and air conditioner control assembly.

12.

Remove passenger side undercover, under frame, fuse box cover and fuse box retaining screw.

13.

Remove front ``A'' pillar trim and side cowl trim.

14.

Remove defroster bezel and defroster grille.

15.

Remove center air outlet upper grille.

16.

Remove steering column retaining bolts, then lower steering column.

17.

Remove instrument panel center reinforcement bracket.

18.

Remove instrument panel retaining nuts driver and passenger seat side.

19.

Remove remaining instrument panel retaining nuts and bolts, then disconnect instrument panel to dash panel electrical connectors.

20.

Remove instrument panel.

21.

Reverse procedure to install.
