Application procedures vary according to the material and manufacturer. Follow manufacturer's directions, especially in regard to mixing materials, air
pressure for spraying, and safety measures. In general, application procedures involve the following steps:

Pre-clean the bumper with one of the pre-clean solvents listed above, or equivalent.

Scuff-sand the entire surface to be painted with 400-600 paper.

3.

Re-clean with acrylic enamel reducer.

4.

Tack-wipe.

5.

Mix and apply color coat per manufacturer's instructions.

6.

Mix and apply clear coat if applicable. (All 1984 Mitsubishi metallic colors are clear-coated.)
