REPLACEMENT BATTERY
INSTALLATION PROCEDURES, 1984-1986 300ZX

APPLIED MODEL: 1984-1986 300ZX

SERVICE INFORMATION

The original equipment battery supplied with all 1984-1986 300ZX vehicles is 1/2" (13 mm) taller than the replacement battery available from Nissan or
other group 22 batteries. Due to this dimensional difference, the heatshield (see Technical Bulletin EE85-004) is 1/2" (13 mm) taller than replacement
group 22 batteries, and therefore, will not permit the battery to be properly secured. To correct this situation, a rubber spacer (P/N 999M1-Z6000) should
be placed beneath the replacement battery.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1.

Make note of AM/FM radio stations preset by customer.

2.

Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable (Figure 1).
