Carefully slide the end housing and rack bushing onto the rack, being careful not to nick or cut the seal. Tighten the lock nut by hand. Do not fully
tighten at this time.

Wrap cellophane tape around splines of pinion assembly (Figure 21).

Coat pinion teeth and lower oil seal surface with grease. Coat sealing rings with ATF. Carefully slide pinion assembly into pinion housing.

Install new O-ring on the bottom of the rear housing (Figure 22). Coat O-ring and inner walls of rear housing with ATF.

Install rear housing with fittings on rear housing facing cylinder assembly twist rear housing into place, install 4 torx bolts, and torque bolts to
5.8-8.7 ft.lbs.

Position thrust washers and needle bearing on pinion upper surface (Figure 23).

Coat new rear housing cover oil seal with ATF and install with suitable tool (Figure 24). Install new O-ring and coat with ATF.
