Rear Wheel

Rear toe is measurement of rear wheels in relation to vehicle centerline, Fig. 1. leading edge of each rear wheel should toe-in slightly toward vehicle
centerline to ensure proper vehicle tracking. Rear toe should be inspected using suitable alignment gauges, following manufacturer's instructions.
When checking or adjusting rear toe, always ensure amount that left and right wheels toe-in is as equal as possible.

LESS FOUR WHEEL STEERING

1. Measure toe-in following equipment manufacturer's instructions.
2. Adjust toe-in by turning adjusting pin. Each graduation of adjusting pin equals 0.059 inch, Fig. 6.
3. Torque adjusting bolt to 51-65 ft. lbs.

WITH FOUR WHEEL STEERING

Rear toe-in can be adjusted by adjusting power cylinder lower links.
1. Measure toe-in for each wheel following equipment manufacturer's instructions.
2. Adjust toe in by adjusting lengths of power cylinder lower links.
3. After adjustment is complete, ensure both lower links are same length.

Steering Angle

When a vehicle negotiates a turn, inner wheel must turn at a sharper angle than outer wheel, and outer wheel must travel farther than inner wheel.
Vehicle steering geometry is calculated to allow for these variations, causing outer wheel to toe-out by a calibrated amount. This toe-out on turns is
also referred to as steering angle and on these models, is generally checked at two positions. first position is at a reference point on inner wheel travel
while second position of measurement is at full steering lock. To check steering angles, proceed as follows:
1. Turn steering to full lock and measure inner and outer wheel turning angles.
2. If "Turning Angles" at full lock are not within specifications, check for damaged steering linkage or improperly adjusted tie rods. lbs. applied to

rim of steering wheel @ idle. For turning angle specifications, refer to Specifications.

3. If steering linkage and tie rods are satisfactory, check for improper rack or rack piston stroke and repair steering gear as needed.
