Toe-In
Front Wheel
Fig. 1 Measuring Toe-in
Toe setting is measurement of wheels in relation to vehicle centerline, Fig. 1. Leading edge of each wheel should toe-in or toe-out slightly in
relation to vehicle centerline to ensure proper vehicle tracking. Toe should be inspected using suitable alignment gauges, following manufacturer's
instructions. When checking or adjusting toe, always ensure setting of left and right wheels is as equal as possible.
Fig. 5 Tie Rod Length Measurement
Toe is adjusted by loosening tie rod locknuts or adjusting sleeve bolts and equally altering length of tie rods. After toe has been adjusted to
specifications, lengths of left and right tie rods, Fig. 2, should be nearly equal and close to length specified. Incorrect tie rod length will adversely
affect steering angles and toe-out on turns. Refer to Specifications for tie rod length specifications.
Rear Wheel
Fig. 1 Measuring Toe-in
Rear toe is measurement of rear wheels in relation to vehicle centerline, Fig. 1. leading edge of each rear wheel should toe-in slightly toward vehicle
centerline to ensure proper vehicle tracking. Rear toe should be inspected using suitable alignment gauges, following manufacturer's instructions.
When checking or adjusting rear toe, always ensure amount that left and right wheels toe-in is as equal as possible.
