Removal and Installation

REMOVAL
1. Remove battery.  See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Exploded View.
2. Remove air duct (inlet), air duct and air cleaner case.  See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Tune-up and Engine Performance Checks/Air

Cleaner Housing/Service and Repair/Exploded View.

3. Remove battery bracket.
4. Remove control cable from manual lever.  See: Shift Linkage/Service and Repair/Exploded View.
5. Place manual lever to "L" position.
6. Disconnect primary speed sensor connector.
7. Remove primary speed sensor.
8. Remove O-ring from primary speed sensor.

INSTALLATION
Note the following, and install in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:
-

Never reuse O-ring.

-

Apply CVT fluid to O-ring.

INSPECTION AFTER INSTALLATION

Check for CVT fluid leakage and check CVT fluid level. See: Fluid - CVT/Service and Repair/Inspection.
