1. Set vehicle to the straight-ahead position.
2. Remove lock nut and bolt, then separate lower shaft (1) from upper joint (2).
3. Remove tires from vehicle with power tool.
4. Remove undercover from vehicle with power tool.

5. Confirm slit of lower shaft (C) fits with the projection (A) on rear cover cap (1), furthermore marking position (B) on steering gear assembly

nearly fits with the projection (A) on rear cover cap (1).

6. Remove high-pressure piping (1) and low-pressure hose (2) of hydraulic piping, and then drain power steering fluid. 
7. Remove cotter pin at steering knuckle, then loosen mounting nut.

8. Remove steering outer socket from steering knuckle so as not to damage ball joint boot using the ball joint remover [suitable tool].

CAUTION:  Temporarily tighten the nut to prevent damage to threads and to prevent the ball joint remover [suitable tool] from suddenly coming
off.
