SERVICE INFORMATION

In order to ensure proper break-in of the R200A front differential, the oil level has been increased from 1.5 to 2.0 liters for a limited production of
Trucks and Pathfinders. These vehicles can be identified by the modified differential breather tube/hose assembly as shown in Figure 1.

The height of the filler plug on the front differential was not increased, therefore, when checking or adding oil to the differential use the following
procedure.

1.

Check to make certain that vehicle ride height adjustment is within specifications. Adjust if necessary.

2.

Elevate the front of the vehicle so that the front suspension crossmember is 10-inches higher than its original location (see Figure 2). In this
condition, the oil fill level should be at the bottom of the filler plug hole.
