About the Sentra
The Sentra has been made since 1982, and until 2006 it was the export version of the Japanese Nissan Sunny; the name is not used in Japan. It began as a subcompact and became a compact in 1999. The name was chosen to sound like "central" and "sentry", suggesting safety. The B13's two-door SE-R, with the 2.0-litre SR20DE, was a well-known sporty model.
What these manuals cover
- 1983–1989 (B11 and B12): the 1.7 diesel (CD17), the 1.6-litre E16 in carburetted and injected form, and the GA16i.
- 1991–1999 (B13 and B14): the 1.6-litre DOHC four (GA16DE), and the 2.0-litre SR20DE of the SE-R and SE.
- 2000–2004 (B15): the 1.8-litre (QG18DE) and the 2.5-litre (QR25DE) of the SE-R Spec V.
- 2010 (B16): the 2.0-litre four (MR20DE).
Tip: the 1995–1998 200SX coupe replaced the two-door Sentra and uses the same GA16DE and SR20DE engines.
