Place edge protector over cut notch.

Clean area with alcohol paper "wipe".

Position clear tape (with backing still in place) to locate the exact position of the first piece of butyl gum.
Butyl gum is applied at the metal lip of the trunk gutter, and must be at the edge of the tape where the wires enter. It provides a seal to keep water
out.
