Care must be taken not to damage crankshaft OD surface or chamfer with pry tool.
Inspect
^
Check ID of bore for nicks or burrs and correct as required. Inspect crankshaft for burrs or nicks on surface which contacts seal. Repair or
replace crankshaft as required.
Install or Connect
1. Apply engine oil to ID or OD of new seal. Slide new seal over mandrel until back of seal bottom is squarely against collar of tool.
2. Seal.
a. Align dowel pin of tool with dowel pin in crankshaft and attach tool to crankshaft by hand, or tighten attaching screws to 5 N.m (60 lb. in.).
b. Turn T-handle of tool so that collar pushes seal into the bore, turn the handle until the collar is tight against the case. This will ensure the seal
is seated properly.
c. Loosen the T-handle of the tool until it comes to a stop. This will ensure that the collar will be in the proper position for installing another new
seal.
d. Remove attaching screws.
3. Flywheel.
Inspect

For proper fluid levels.
