About the Ninety-Eight
The 98 was Oldsmobile's full-size flagship from 1940 to 1996, sharing GM's C-body with Buick and Cadillac and carrying Oldsmobile's most advanced features. For 1985 it moved to front-wheel drive.
What these manuals cover
- 1982: (rear-wheel drive) the 4.1 V6 and the 5.0 V8
- 1985–1995: (front-wheel drive) the 3.0 and 3.8-litre V6s, and the 5.0 V8 and 4.3 diesel in 1985
Tip: the front-drive Ninety-Eight is a sister of the Buick Electra.
