RADIO KIT, P/N 39.00

MODELS:

405 DL

A special radio kit is available for the 405 DL, and consists of the following components:

1.

40 watt Alpine radio (same as 1986 radio with the following changes):

a.

1989 Alpine side-mounting spring clips

b.

1989 Alpine rear-mounting "nipple" (longer)

c.

lego-to-13-pin connector adapter

d.

console thickness adapters

2.

Front tweeters

3.

Front woofers

4.

Front woofer wiring extensions (required)

5.

Manual telescopic antenna (see below for optional additional items)

All 405 DL vehicles are pre-wired with all radio and speaker wiring.

This radio, which is not fitted with any anti-theft blinking diode, may be installed with the DL flip-down radio cover.

Customers may wish to consider purchasing the following additional items:

1.

Rear parcel shelf woofers - P/N 9711.C8

2.

Rear power antenna - P/N 9716.40

If the customer wants to eliminate the flip-down cover, the following parts must be installed:

1.

"Mounting bracket" (this trim piece covers the slots which are visible when the flip-down cover is removed and moves the radio 10 mm closer to
the driver) Blue - P/N 8214.N2, Grey - P/N 8214.N3

2.

Longer bolt for mounting bracket and washer.

Bolt:

M6 x 45 - P/N 6921.41

Washer:

6 x 12 x 1.2 - P/N 6948.19

EXCHANGE RADIOS

In order to simplify PMA and Dealer parts stocking requirements, one exchange radio will now be used for both 1986 505 and 1989 405 DL
applications. Future exchange radios supplied by PMA will be either:

1.

Converted to 1989 side clips (which fit both 405 and 505 vehicles) and 1989 rear nipple (which fits both the 405 and 505) OR

2.

Shipped with an envelope containing the 1989 update parts (side clips and rear nipple) which may be installed if necessary by your technician on
405 DL vehicles.

IMPORTANT: WHEN REMOVING 405 DL RADIOS FOR EXCHANGE OR REPAIR, SEPARATE THE RADIO FROM THE VEHICLE AT THE

"LEGO" CONNECTORS. DO NOT RETURN THE LEGO-TO-13-PIN ADAPTER WIRING LOOM WITH THE RADIO.
