INSUFFICIENT RADIO RECEPTION
MODELS:
1989/1990 405 SEDANS AND SPORTSWAGONS
THIS SERVICE BULLETIN SUPERCEDES S.B. NO. 386, DATED JUNE 1990, TO INCLUDE A REPAIR PROCEDURE FOR VEHICLES
EQUIPPED WITH A MANUAL ANTENNA.
COMPLAINT:
Poor radio reception and drifting off station particularly noticeable on the FM waveband, or static complaint on AM/FM wavebands in fringe areas or
when the rear window defogger is activated on 405 Sportswagon models.
CORRECTION:
1.
Installation of a short heavy duty antenna ground strap mounted directly to the vehicle body.
2.
Further radio reeception refinement has been obtained by eliminating the coaxial cable capacitor on MY1990/91 vehicles (blue connector on
coaxial cable, P/N 9716.37, instead of a red connector on antenna side).
