Radio Anti-Theft LED - Information

RADIO ANTI-THEFT LED DOES NOT BLINK
MODELS:
1989 VEHICLES WITH CLARION RADIO 39.01/39.04
COMPLAINT:
When the radio is turned off and the ignition key removed, the red anti-theft LED does not blink.
REPAIR:
"Unlock" LED by
1.
Turning ignition "off"
2.
Momentarily pressing "BAND" button
3.
LED will begin to blink
IMPORTANT:
LED must be unlocked as shown above on initial radio installation. This step was inadvertently omitted from the installation instructions.
CUSTOMER INFORMATION:
The blinking LED can be turned "on" and "off" by the customer as outlined on page 6 of the radio owners handbook:
Flashing LED - when the ignition key is removed, a red LED will flash continuously to serve as a warning to thieves. If the flashing LED is not desirable,
such as when parked in an attended vehicle, press "BAND" until the LED stops flashing. To reactivate the flashing LED, momentarily press "BAND"
with the ignition "off" only.
WARNING:
FAILURE TO REACTIVATE THE LED WILL DEFEAT A MAJOR ANTI-THEFT MEASURE.
