TRIM-PANEL
MODELS:

COMPLAINT:
When locking doors with either the plip or door key, the front door lock buttons will bounce back to the "unlock" position.
CAUSE:
Insufficient travel of the front door lock buttons, after removal/ reinstallation of a front door trim panel.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
-
Remove the two front door lock buttons (push the button upwards while pressing the release tab with a suitable screwdriver).
-
Operate the door locks with the key; if the door locks operate correctly with the buttons removed, proceed as follows:
-
Release the retaining clips on both front door lock button guides (2 side clips on door trim panel).
-
Ensure that the upper part of the door trim panel is properly secured to the door.
-
Place a 2.5 mm shim between the button guide and door trim panel on window side.
-
Re-attach the door lock buttons to the locking rod in the locked position. If the door is open, rotate the door latch catch; then push down on
the locking rod (locked position) and reinstall button.
-
Remove the 2.5 mm shim.
-
Push down on the button guide to lock it onto the door trim panel.
