Protective Coating - Revised Removal Procedure

SUBJECT:
REVISED VEHICLE PROTECTIVE COATING REMOVAL
COMPLAINT:
On occasion, the clear acrylic vehicle protective coating is not removed by the first application of the transit coating remover, P/N 97.39.
SOLUTION:
Double the remover concentration according to the revised removal procedures as shown below:
Application:
USE INSTRUCTIONS ON CONTAINER, WITH THE FOLLOWING EXCEPTIONS:
1.
In summer - if very hot, allow the vehicle to cool in the shade before applying the remover solution.
2.
Pre-rinse the vehicle with sufficient tap water in order to warm the metal during the winter, or to cool the metal during the summer. As long as this
step is followed, remover solution may be used with ambient temperatures in the shade above 95~F.
3.
MIX THE CONTENTS OF THE PINT CONTAINER WITH 2 QUARTS (NOT 4) OF WATER IN A WASH BUCKET.
4.
After washing and rinsing, inspect the vehicle for areas where the coating was not removed. Spot removal of coating can be accomplished by
applying a small amount of the diluted solution in the wash bucket to the area and wiping with a clean dry cloth. If the coating is still not removed
from small areas, use the remover at full strength from the bottle and rinse off immediately. This should be done only as a last resort.
Please inform your personnel of these new instructions.
