Wheel Bearing: Adjustments

FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS ADJUSTMENT

1.

While rotating wheel, torque spindle nut to 12 ft. lbs.

2.

Back off spindle nut until just loose, then retighten by hand.

3.

Loosen spindle nut until cotter pin can be inserted, however, do not loosen spindle nut more than 1/2 flat.

4.

With bearing properly adjusted, there should be .001---.005 inch endplay.
