Control Valve Body Cover Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement   (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Tune-up and

Engine Performance Checks/Air Cleaner Housing/Air Cleaner Fresh Air Duct/Hose/Service and Repair/Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement).

2. Remove the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement   (See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair).

3. Remove the shift cable from the transaxle range selector.
4. Remove the transaxle shift cable bracket bolts and the bracket from the transaxle.
5. Disconnect the transaxle wiring harness connector.

6. Remove top side cover bolt (56, 58).
7. Install the engine support fixture. Refer to Engine Support Fixture   (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Engine Support Fixture).

8. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle   (See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
9. Remove the left front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation   (See: Maintenance/Wheels and Tires/Service and Repair).

10. Remove the left engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement - Left Side   (See: Body and Frame/Splash Guard/Service and

Repair/Engine Splash Shield Replacement - Left Side).

11. Remove the wheel speed sensor harness from retainers on lower control arm.
12. Remove the left transaxle mount. Refer to Transmission Mount Replacement - Left Side (Sedan/Coupe)   (See: Transmission Mount/Service and

Repair/4T65-E - Automatic Transmission/Transmission Mount Replacement - Left Side (Sedan/Coupe))Transmission Mount Replacement - Left

13. Remove the front cradle to radiator support brackets on each side.
