About the Grand Prix
The Grand Prix began in 1962 as a full-size performance coupe and was made until 2008, with four-door saloons from 1989. Over its life it moved to the personal-luxury and then the mid-size class; from 1988 it was a front-drive car on GM's W platform.
What these manuals cover
- 1982–1984: (rear-wheel drive) the 3.8 and 4.1-litre V6s, the 5.0 V8 and the 5.7 diesel
- 1989–2000: (front-wheel drive) the 3.1, 3.4 and 3.8-litre V6s, including the supercharged 3.8
- 2004–2007: the 3.8 V6 and the 5.3-litre V8
Tip: the Chevrolet Monte Carlo is the Grand Prix's variant, and the Buick Regal shares its W platform.
