Seat Belt Motor: Service and Repair
Hatchback
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Remove guide rail.
3.
Remove bolts retaining drive motor and locking section.
4.
Remove assembly by pulling down while turning the locking section 180°.
5.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque drive motor mounting bolts to 26 ft. lbs.
b. Torque locking section mounting bolts to 15 ft. lbs.
Sedan
1.
With belt locked at B-pillar, disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Remove front and rear sill plates.
3.
Remove B-pillar upper and lower trim.
4.
Remove two bolts, one screw and locking mechanism from guide rail.
5.
Disconnect metal retaining clip and remove drive motor mounting nut.
6.
Remove drive motor and disconnect electrical connector.
7.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque drive motor retaining nut to 26 ft. lbs.
b. Torque locking mechanism screw and bolts to 15 ft. lbs.
