Remove components as shown in Fig. 7.
ASSEMBLE
1.
Install bearing cap into strut compressor, then mount strut into compressor using bottom locking pin only, Fig. 7.
2.
Install spring over dampener and swing assembly up so upper locking pin can be installed. Install upper insulator, shield, bumper and upper spring
seat.
3.
Ensure fault on upper spring seat is facing in the proper direction. Spring seat flat should be 10° forward of centerline of strut assembly spindle as
shown in Fig. 7.
4.
Install guide rod and turn forcing screw while guide rod centers the assembly. When threads on dampener shaft are visible, remove guide rod and
install nut.
5.
Use a crowsfoot line wrench while holding dampener shaft with socket and torque to specification.
6.
Remove clamp.
