Clutch Master Cylinder: Adjustments
Requirements for Clutch Adjustment

When the clutch master cylinder is replaced.

If the clutch pressure rod adapter has been removed.

If pressure rod or adapter has been turned.
NOTE: The clutch pedal does not have a stop. The clutch pedal has reached its final position when the clutch master cylinder is in the released
position (clutch engaged). The released position of the clutch master cylinder is assured by the servo spring (double function). If the clutch
pressure rod is correctly adjusted the clutch pedal is not supported in the released position. This entails the following factors:

Correct position of clutch pedal ie. adequate release travel of clutch pedal is possible (travel is later limited to some extent by the adjustable
stop on the floor panel).

Automatic hydraulic readjustment of the clutch.
Adjusting

Turn adapter or clutch pressure rod to adjust length of rod. The length must be 158 ± 1 mm measured from threaded face of cylinder to center of
pin boss.

Tighten lock nut.

If necessary, correct position of brake pedal pad relative to clutch pedal pad.

Check release travel and correct if necessary.
Checking Clutch Release Travel

The travel of the clutch release lever is limited by an adjustable stop on the floor panel of the pedal assembly.

The release travel is correct when the pedal travel is 140 to 150 mm.

The measurement is taken at the side of the pedal pad. Begin by marking a measuring point half way up the pedal pad.

Press clutch pedal down to stop. Place end of measuring tape on floor panel and align with measuring point on pedal pad. Allow clutch pedal to
return to original position. Allow tape to follow measuring point on pedal pad without altering position of tape end. The difference between the
two values must be 140 to 150 mm maximum.
