Adjusting Servo Spring Pretension

A servo spring which discharges two functions is installed in the pedal bracket.
a) Reduction of force required to actuate the clutch, because the servo spring increases the force applied to the pedal.
b) Returns clutch pedal with pressure rod and piston of master cylinder to original position (no pressure spring installed in clutch master cylinder
).

The servo spring must be pretensioned correctly. Pretension is correct when the marks on the adjusting cam and the lever are aligned (basic
setting).
NOTE: The earliest model year 87 cars did not have a mark. If necessary, install replacement lever and cam or inscribe mark.
